I am closing my pool by myself tomorrow. Waited WAY too long it has to be done ASAP. FULL of leaves and going to be 30s tomorrow.

I am skipping Polyquat this year honestly I don't think it ever did anything. I have 3 bottles of 10% chlorine I will just dump all that in.

You are closing late enough and if you open early you should be okay without Polyquat.

What is your water temp?

Supposed to be int he 60's in NJ this weekend.

Last year I closed the first week in Nov with 13 FC. I picked up about 2.5ft of rainwater and opened with 6 FC left.

I closed last weekend and am expecting similar this year.

I wonder if I really need anti freeze in my skimmer lines. They are blown completely out and plugged so no water can get in them. Not sure why I ever put it in probably because when I was closed by a company they all did it.

anyone see a reason to put antifreeze in the skimmer lines?

Cheap Insurance. There could be a small leak or lots of condensation.

i got 4 gallons at TSC for $10 this year, but usually get it at Lowes for $3something each.

I put PQ60 in my water but do not put anti-freeze in the skimmer.

Both are cheap insurance. You can buy one or the other or both.

I found almost a gallon a antifreeze from last year I will use that. Pool is draining right now. Already below the skimmers just need around 6 more inches. I'll also use up the 3 gallons of 10%.

I'm feeling lazy so will toss my 3 season old cartridges and replace with new ones.
