Hi there. Brand new pool owner here as we are just completing our pool and spa build. We’ve had some challenges, but for the most part have been satisfied with the quality of the finished product.
We have a salt system (Pentair IC40) and yesterday we had someone come to initially add salt. Our pool and spa are 10,500 gal combined, and I was surprised to see the amount of salt ordered (15 40lb bags) and when the kid arrived to add the salt I questioned why so much but he said not to worry. Anyways, he added 12 of the 15 bags and said it should be fine, but sure enough, my Pentair system is saying the PPM is 5400 and the IC40 is saying salt too high.
I do have an overflow in the pool going right out to the street… is the easiest ‘fix’ to just add the hose to the pool and dilute until I get the salt down to a manageable level?
Thanks for all your help and look forward to being part of the community!
