Elevated Back Yard Build

We have some plans that are looking like they will be approved by our city. I wanted to get feedback before we start construction. The pool will be elevated a couple feet because we live by a marsh and we get some minor back yard flooding a couple times per year. This is the max width we can do based on a tree protection zone we have.

Your pool design is beautifully minimalistic and modern - perfect for your space! :)

I'm not an expert by any means, but I would consider several things:
1) Research previous years' backyard flooding elevation and ensure you have proper drainage
2) The sleek wing walls for the auto cover fit the modern aesthetic. Do you like how they blend in?
3) Are the materials for the faux negative edge durable in your marsh environment?
4) Consider slip-resistant coping materials for safety.

Thank you, we are excited for it!

1) great point, I have photos I took of the highest it has ever been in the last 5 years and it was may e 3 or 4 inches where the pool is at. The yard is sloped to the marsh so it is deepest near the fence and the pool wall will be around 2.5 feet elevated at that part.

2) I like how they look but definitely open to suggestions for other things to do with them.

3) I believe so, the edge will be made with the same tile as the waterline.

4) is the sandblasting marble slippery? My builder said it shouldn't be, but who knows.

Thank you so much!

For #4, my comment was not specific to the sandblasted marble, but rather general comment. Based on the picture, seems like it should suffice. I usually stick to materials with an R11 rating around the pool, since I expect a lot of kids running around the area. If you want to double confirm, the builder should be able to get you a technical or material sheet. Best of luck with the build!

Cool, I will ask our builder what rating it is. Thank you!
