Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Mine is now just parking itself on the pool wall and doesn’t move. Google offers nothing useful. Any ideas?

EDIT:
It finally decided to run after about 10 minutes…
How old is it? I just got my free replacement today. Mine was actually working fine after a fake death then it came back. But the tech support people said my light flashing sequences indicated water intrusion in the motor and suggested they replace. They let me use the existing one 'till the replacement came. No credit card, just a promise to send my old unit back on their nickel. Not bad in my mind. I'm back to being a happy customer!

It’s only a couple of months old. First time it’s done this. It completed its run so I’ll try it again tomorrow.

So I ended up buying one of these in May because I needed something immediately while my Dolphin E10 was being repaired.

I'm honestly really impressed with it overall. It's still a 'dumb' cleaner but does do a decent job of maneuvering around my pool using the 'S' pattern - which ends up cleaning the floor much faster and thoroughly than my E10. I generally only use the Eco mode which will clean the floor for 45min and then shut off. Most of the time it will park itself near a wall, but occasionally will be in the middle of the deep end.

Having to retrieve it with the pole is a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker. It's kind of offset by the fact that I can run it at the same as my Betta thanks to no more cables.

Reading this thread I see it has issues with power supply reliability. Hopefully mine is a unicorn because as of right now I don't plan on going back to non-battery powered robot. I really expect that industry to grow substantially in the next few years, and it seems Aiper among a few others are already leading the way.

So how's everyone's Aiper holding up? 5 months in and so far it's still going good. No battery issues or charging issues. I use it maybe 3-4x a week on floor mode.

Doesn't get stuck on my decently steep incline and still rocking the original firmware I believe.

Thanks for update. I have very similar results. Very pleased with the robot.

Ditto here. Use it every other day, sometimes every 3 days as my Betta gets most of the leaves, bugs, etc before they sink to the bottom. Getting ready to close the pool for the winter. Will be storing both bots in the basement away from the freezing temps in my shed. I read that you should charge them once a month to keep the batteries“fresh” so they won’t drain by sitting unused.

So, is buying this cleaner from Costco the biggest slam dunk in pool cleaners right now? I read all the exclusions on the Costco return policy and I don't see it being excluded from lifetime returns (like they do with TVs and some other tech products). Someone correct me if that's wrong. I don't even need another pool cleaner right now but I'm thinking of buying it before they realize their error :ROFLMAO:

I'm thrilled with mine and the replacement to the original but the red light blinking indicated to their tech support water intrusion to the motor so they replaced it. Customer support was fantastic albeit a little inconvenient due to email only communication. Even with that only took 3 24 hour cycles to begin the return process. I kept mine until I got the new one and never had to give a credit card to guarantee I'd send the old one back. They provided a free return Fedex label. Even though it was email only they are really good at this and I've had way more difficulty with "on the phone" customer service from several major brand suppliers.

Question for the group. Have most of you kept all the boxes that your bot came in just in case you had to return it? I have 3 big boxes for the S-1 and 2 for my Betta Plus taking uo a lot if space in my basement and the wife wants them gone. For those who had to return theirs, did you still have your original boxes to use?
I’m thinking I have to keep them until the warranty period expires. 🤷🏻‍♂️
