Hello all,
I have completed a SLAM to treat an apparently recurring mustard algae issue. My pool is crystal clear now and my OCLTs have been good. Just this morning I increased the FC to the mustard algae shock level (my CYA is 70); overall, I have ended up using a ton of liquid chlorine (over 10 gallons) and quite a bit of reagent. Anyway, I am off on travel all of next week and my wife will be taking over testing etc. Given that the FC is around 40 ppm right now, I do not think she needs to start testing until Tuesday or so. What do you guys think? Just trying to save time and reagent here; I do no think there needs to be any concerted action until the FC is below 10 ppm and, assuming a 20% daily FC loss (which I think is reasonable), that threshold will not get crossed until Thursday.
Thank you for your responses.
Cheers,
Marcos
