Hi guys,

I'm going to replace my old Circupool SWG cell with a Pentair IC 40. Not sure were I have to place the cell, because Pentair recommend it to install it in a vertical postion.
As you can see it on the pictures, I have the chance to install it on the pipes which comes from my solar heater. Could someone tell which pipe I should use? The left one, coming from the filter, or the right one, coming from the solar heater from the roof.

Do you have, or will you soon have automation to make the premium cost worth it ?

Not sure were I have to place the cell, because Pentair recommend it to install it in a vertical postion.
The old horizontal location is perfect if it's after all the equipment. It does not need to be vertical.

If you were to go vertical, the internal flow switch needs 'upflow' so gravity doesn't close the switch when it fails.

Thanks guys for answering. Yes, I have a Pentair PS4L. And the reason why I'd like to change to Pentair is, that the Circupool failed now for the second time (keyboard, now PC board).
If I have understand Newdude correctly, if going vertical, then the left pipe, right?

While Pentair recommends installing the IC 40 vertically, they also recommend that your SWG should be installed after the filter and heater. Your best place for installation is where the old RJ+ is installed. As mentioned before, the IC 40 does not have to be installed vertically, and your EasyTouch will keep the SWG from running when the pump is off.
