Return jet repair?

Hi all,
The return jet eyeball holder keeps popping off. I do not know if this hairline crack has been there when it was staying on, could this be why it keeps popping off? It has popped off before and I’ve put it back in and it has been fine, so I’m not sure if I’m doing something different. Any tips for securing this?

If the crack is the cause, I guess it needs to be replaced. How do I find the right size & style replacement? What is the pot like thing with the pipe sticking out of it for? None of the replacements seem to have this.

Most importantly, is there anyway to jerry-rig the current one to get me through to Oct? It will probably be much easier to replace when I lower the water for winter.

You don't absolutely need that eyeball to be in place. That's a true "venturi" jet, basically a spa fitting, and the pipe on the outside is to allow air in and give bubbles. If you have never used that feature, you don't need to get the same type.
Unless there is a leak, just filter as usual. You will possibly notice lower pressure on the filter gauge with that removed
