Wybot C1 Review

I didn't see that option when I choose floor mode. Maybe it's under expert. I can't check until I get the bot out of the pool and connect to it.

Do you think it cleaned better in S pattern?
Yes it is under expert mode and yes I did think it cleaned in a more controlled manner.

In S pattern it seems to over rotate when it gets to the side to turn around and cleans the same line over and over.

It did a good job cleaning last night. I'll have to try all the settings and see what works best.

I didn't watch it the entire time but seemed good for my pool which is rectangular. I will say I ran it probably 10 times in 3-4 days to try it out in several modes and in general it picked up a TON from the bottom but my pool was really dirty. It was new construction which the contractors honed down pavers in the caged area so it was beyond in need of a cleaning on the bottom. Also it picked up a ton of sand which I was concerned it wouldn't. By the end of running it all those times it basically was ending the runs with an empty filter basket. My thought process on it all is that nothing will get 100% every run but if I run it twice a week then it should in general keep my pool nice and clean. Again, just my thoughts specific for my pool.

Just want to update a little on mine if anyone is contemplating for a pool similar to mine: free form, hopper, 3.5 to 8 ft steep slope…

Only complaint after a couple weeks of use is if I leave the pump&filter running while the Wybot is doing floor and wall, it gets “stuck” to the skimmers. I guess my pump is powerful enough to create suction against the bot and holds it in place. With the pump/filter off, it obviously doesn’t happen. Sort of a nuisance, but I don’t need the walls done every day.

My favorite part is that in “floor only” mode, it identifies the hopper as the floor and still cleans it.

The cycle timer that runs every 24 hours is great. The option for 4 days or 5 days (whatever the max is, I forget) left one leaf and a bug behind. Pool is 20x34. Not bad!

For the steps I just use a pool blaster by hand… takes 2 minutes.

My only other “complaint” would be needing the phone to change modes. Sometimes I go out there and don’t have my phone with me. No big deal.

You can change the mode by hitting the power(clear/white) button after the power is on and it will cycle through the modes.

Wow thanks! I didn’t know that. How do you know which mode it’s on?
I hope I'm not misspeaking but mine has three icons by the power button and it lights up under each when you switch between the modes with the power button. Hope that helps

We bought a C1 halfway through our pool season last year. The charging port corroded this spring and the pin broke after 2 months of usage. The BOT has a 2 year warranty, but, getting a replacement was a nightmare. Many emails and phone calls later and I think they knew I wasn't going away. Have the replacement and it hasn't even been a month and we are having the same issue. The port cap has always been tight, the BOT is dry before we charge and it is done indoors as they suggest. For a cordless unit it works OK, the craftsmanship and customer service is terrible. Don't waste your hard earned money on this company.

For the record, we had a Hayward Tiger Shark for 10 years, parts and manuals readily available. We just wanted to go cordless.

By the way, I also bought a C1 on Prime Day. I have not used it yet. For the VIP members here I had to recover my pool first, as it's a sad and long story, but even still I am still not completely done. However I think the robot is going to go in tomorrow... I will try to update the group here with what I think. It's actually my first robot and I went cheap intentionally... Hopefully it will surprise me.

I've had mine a couple weeks so far. I think in floor mode it's pretty comparable to the Aiper and the Aiper was more than twice the price. It's much lighter and more settings. The app is better. Customer service has been responsive. If it lasts a couple years I'll be happy.

I returned the Aiper because of debris leaking out when taking the robot out of the water. I haven't had that problem with the Wybot.

The WYBOT C1 has been very good for me so far. Out performs the Pentair Warrior SE in my opinion as far as coverage in a single run. App is easy to use. Really like the schedule timer for when I have to travel for work. Coupled with the Betta SE Plus, I’m not doing much pool cleaning.

@Bbp I’d like to hear a little more on your experience with customer service. They seem to answer the phone, but have not responded to a request via their website/email.

They replied to my emails. I haven't tried any other contact. They request for me to send videos of any issues I'm having. I haven't done that.

We had a bunch of trees taken down yesterday. A lot of wood chips and sawdust ended up in the pool. The C1 was running while the trees were coming down and then I ran it again today to finish up. It really did a great job.

Sorry to hear about all the troubles and poor treatment by the company! For what it's worth, I just swabbed my pins with silicone grease as a substitute for dielectric grease. Hopefully that keeps corrosion at bay.

I have to remember to bring back up the dielectric grease from the weekend home for that plug, but the plastic cap kept it dry on the sample size of one.

I just gave it a maiden voyage. It seemed to pull a lot of sand off the bottom. It's very cool to watch. It ran just shy of the stated 2 hours. I have a floor system that likes to make piles instead of going down the main drain. There were three piles. It got 1.5 of them. Meaning it missed quite a bit in a single 2 hr run. Jury is still out. I might try a different pattern in the app. On a rectangular pool I think it would be fantastic, even though it's set to free form via the app it's struggling a bit.

I think with the floor system and manual vaccuming it is probably adequate and is probably the appropriate tool for the job for the price.

My wife forced me to name it. She liked "Manny". Now that it's recharging it's in "Manny-pause" according to her.

I have to confirm support is lacking on WyBot. My filter had a slight tear in it and was trying to get a replacement and have been waiting for weeks. They seem to keep playing a delay game but continuing to follow up. If I don't have it replaced next week the unit will go back because my 30 days is up soon.

Where do you drop your C1 in the pool? Do you think it matters? I've tried different locations, different patterns, different pool shapes (mine isn't exact for the options). I'm not sure any of it really matters. It gets turned around on wall slopes and corners, it over rotates and heads somewhere else besides the pattern it's supposed to be running.

In the end I don't really care as long as the pool is clean when it's done or pretty clean and as long as I don't have to manually clean it.

I've experimented with different locations for dropping mine in and haven't really noticed much of a difference in cleaning the whole pool. Mine is a pretty straightforward rectangular sports pool and it does really well at covering 90+% on a single run. I can't comment on irregular shaped pools, but I would think the star pattern for floor mode would probably work the best to get the most coverage because it seems to be the most random from a programming perspective
