last Thursday, my pool was completely Crystal Clear. Then Monday, my Pool Guy showed up and dumped bags of salt in my skimmer because I locked the pool cover because I did not want them to do any more treatment on my pool and they did anyway. Yes, I'm done with them.
Today I went to check on my pool and it is completely clouded over and the pump pressure was read zero. I cleaned my cartridge filters and I’m hoping that resolves the problem but I’m wondering if anyone else has any other suggestions? What else should I be checking? Why would it be reading zero? I’m assuming it clogged something, but I don’t know what.
Help 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

SzQ,

Are you sure?? I ask because only an idiot would add bags of salt into a skimmer...

Is the pump running?
Can you feel water returning to the pool at your pool returns?
When you look down into the pump basket, what do you see?
When you look down into the skimmer what do you see.

If you are not sure, post several pics..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Your cartridge should be on the pump discharge, so when it clogs, the pump pressure should increase up until it gets to pump shutoff head. If you have zero pressure, sounds like you ended up with a plug of salt in the line somewhere, preventing water getting to the pump. Hopefully, it dissolves or you can get to it.
EDIT: If you’re getting even some water flow, the water will dissolve the salt.

I think you are right. I cleaned my cartridges and kept off the pump for a while. When I replaced the filters and turned the system back on, it was working again..yay
