Hi, I've owned DE filter for years. Last September bought new ribs to replace the old ribs but didn't use them until this past weekend. When pressure was low, took the ribs out to clean the DE powder is inside the ribs & not over the ribs. Does anyone know why? Thanks.

Some one added DE to the skimmer with the valve in back-wash position. Possibly a tear in a grid, but not if it is in all the grids.
I am using the same filter & didn't change the plumbing. I only replaced the old with new grid inserts for the filter
Maybe it has always been wrong?
If all of the DE is inside the grids, the 3 reasons are wrong multiport, wrong plumbing or adding DE while on backwash.
