400,000 Members

Do you know how many active members there are? I don't know what's the best definition. Maybe someone who has logged in once in the last year.
To give you a very vague idea using some ballpark numbers.

•We’ve had roughly 150,000 posts and about 17,000 new threads over the last year.
•This past year alone, we’ve seen almost 39,000 new members register.
•On average, about 1,000 members log in each day.
•Overall, almost 70,000 unique members have logged into the forum at least once over the last year.

Which leads us……
I thought it felt kinda crowded in here …

At the start of the year we moved into a bigger boat, and in May we moved PoolMath into a larger boat. We foresaw some growth and took a proactive risk to go ahead and update every one of servers from shared machines that would hold data for multiple websites to dedicated machines that ALL of the power is directed towards TFP. These changes resulted in roughly a 10% increase in server costs that we do need to be mindful of as we move forward.

Additionally PoolMath is having an amazing year with record growth following the latest update. This growth caused us towards the end of May to update servers for the App also resulting in around a 10% increase in costs……

In the future we are likely gonna work on addressing the added expenses, so please, keep us in mind when you’re looking to give out some cash. 😉

But for now……we party!

I think I remember way back in the day telling Leebo he needed to update the home page to reflect....ONE HUNDRED K!

This was way closer to a decade ago than I’d like to acknowledge 😬😱🤯

Snippet from the 100k members thread :

Honorable mentions go to CYA for bringing so many of us here, along with your friends black algae, green swamp, and the poolshopped masses!

This is long past due. I’ve professionally managed pools for 25 years - although I didn’t stumble on to TFP until I bought a house with a pool because of work relocation. I found a place with people that care for pools in the way I was taught. Everyone does so with a genuine spirit of comeraderie and a desire to help and encourage those who don’t have the knowledge, instruction, or background to succeed in addressing their pool nightmares without judgement.

Furthermore, because of the knowledge and encouragement offered in this community openly and freely - due to life altering circumstances, I subsequently opened a business to caretake pools in a way consistent with TFP methods and the way I was brought up in the business. For this I am forever grateful and owe a debt of gratitude to the wonderful people who make up the community here. I’ve pledged Gold support and reticently am disheartened I had not done it before given everything this great community is about. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t “jumped into the deep end” with support to do so, so we can jump from 400,000 members to 800,000 and beyond! Cheers my friends 🥂 and congrats to TFP for all the work that has been done heretofore and will be done in the future!

How do i find out my number?
I tag people @Flying Tivo, then edit the post and the username comes up with the code or whatevs. You're 134,0134.

USER=134014]@Flying Tivo[/USER],

That number is higher than the active member # because banned members don't count for the 400k (etc) number. The further back you go the closer the two #s get because spammers were less of an issue back in the day, and/or the gap between the #s had less time to grow. It's about 30k members off these days so the 400kth member will be 430k something in the code

I don't see it on the page. I only see the number in the url for that page. For me, I see 231111 which would be four of a kind if I was playing poker.
