Cloudy blue water

I'm a new guy and still learning, so take my words with a grain of salt. But you might try a back-flush even if the pressure may not show excessive yet. A. It's fairly harmless to do so. B. Your pressure gauge could be faulty, C. there could be algae in the filter delaying your recovery. May sound stupid, but I say this because I went through a couple blooms and found that, when backwashing during bloom treatment, the sightglass showed the water as quite green even when the pool was simply cloudy. Flushing it out seemed to help the pool recover faster? What do I know, just one man's observation... All the best to you!!

I'll backwash once I get home ,thanks.
I bought a new hayward top valve and it came with a new gauge so I'm going to rule that out. The sight glass is clear and with a little bit of sand. When I had the algae bloom 3 weeks ago I did do backwash often and it was coming out green.

Just got home and pool starting to clear up. See the images, we can start to see the floor now. Will continue SLAM and do the OCLT tonight to see if it can hold. Going to have to read on how to do that. I'm amazed on the results of TFP.

I was about to respond to your earlier post and glad I read this. This is normal, all of a sudden it will start to clear. Seeing the bottom is a big change. Just keep up the SLAM, You can do a OCLT but if it is still cloudy it still requires SLAM level FC.

This is what i have now.

FC 11.5
CC 0. Did not turn Pink on first drop
Ph 7.4
Ta 90
Ch 230
Cya 30. Rounded since it was overflowing the measuring vial which is around ~25.

Continuing slam process.

Really excited to see how far its come. Looking clearer by the day.

FC stayed high at 19 overnight and it looks clearer.

Will continue SLAMing until 3 conditions are met.

Will plan to do OCLT tonight. Before testing it at night, do I add the target FC slam level or leave as is and just take note of the reading and compare to the morning reading?

Also, what are some of the post-SLAM advices you can you?

You can do either. Evening FC needs to be at least 3 FC. If you add, run the pump for 30 minutes after adding, before you test.

Good morning all.

OCLT concluded in almost almost no loss. I may need to do it against to verify on the 0.2 scale.

Last night FC 19 and now is 18.5
Cc was 0.5

seeing how my CYA I'd a little low, can I add some to prevent some of the chlorine from burning off so fast? I had some leftover tablets that I had bought from the store previously before coming here. They are trichlo tablets, I hear they raise cya. Would yall recommend that?

At this point in time I'm trying to now do my homework on maintaining a clear pool.

No need. You clearly passed! Outstanding. :goodjob:

Absolutely. Tabs are fine.

Once the FC falls to 10 or below, test the pH. Good job.
