This seems so high bc I read 3500 is average. My pool usually chlorinates fine with 3500 and the low salt light usually goes off once I get it over 4,000ppm, but now I’m at 4400 ppm and the light is still on.. Do I really need to go to 6000? That seems so high! Maybe I need to recalibrate? If pool is chlorinating fine, so I just ignore this 6,000 “requirement” ?

Sounds like you got an austrailian model SWCG? Those seem to have higher salt requirements.

Yes I do, i dont know why that’s what the builder installed but he did. So do I do damage to it by keeping the salt level at 3500? 6,000 is very salty I feel and I have other equipment to consider.

Even 6000ppm is very low compared to real salt water. You’ll probably taste it more but no other harm to it.
