I'm new here, I am interested in pool pump, heater, etc automation.

I am an electronics technologist who has an understanding of serial protocols including modbus, so I have some interest in pool control from an electronic perspective. What lead me hear was my Jandy RS484 controller for the variable speed pump had some water infiltration and has stopped working. I know you can buy a replacement easy enough but I am interested in repair and trouble shooting of such things.
Also what I find strange is there are external motor control contacts on the jandy motor (asides from the RS485 header) that should allow an override by ground certain contacts, but that has not seem to get the jandy to motor to respond and turn on... Makes me wonder if the motor's starting cap also is done....

hi @Robichka , welcome to TFP!... I'm a little unclear what your question is, so maybe you could post some photos of what you've got (and add it to your profile signature)

VSP has no "start" capacitor. The motor is a 3-phase motor and the leads are the high-voltage leads that run the motor depending on the frequency set by the drive.
