Rinsed the sock out after a quick spot cleaning, had only residue left in it, left a faint yellow stain. I have used it before without issue, not sure what happened this time, or what to do about it... The plaster is white and not blotchy, that is just the trees and cloudy reflection. Thank you.

That faint dingy yellow area at the bottom of the pic? To be clear, you only did an AA "spot treatment" in that area, no where else correct? Before the granules fell in that area everything was fine? How long would you estimate the granules sat on the floor in that spot?

Yes, left of middle top step. I didn’t spot treat that area, however, the area I spot treated also turned faint yellow. That area looked perfect before. I’m not sure, I rinsed off the sock and walked away, didn’t even think about it bc there was almost nothing in the sock. Came back sometime later and noticed it. Then realized the spot I treated also had the same yellow stain. I have done this before with success and never have had this yellowing.

Interesting. Not sure what would cause such a reaction between plaster and AA unless it has something to do with the pigment itself. Let's call on the assistance of @JoyfulNoise on this one.

You can try. There’s no harm.

Seems to me you have some kind of metal contamination in the water, most likely iron if it is responding to Vitamin C. So what may have happened is that the Vit C locally dissolved the stain but it just redeposited a short distance away where there was no Vit C to keep it in solution.

You might want to apply the vitamin C again and then wet the stain is gone scrub the area really well. You’ll also want to try to figure out how much iron is in your pool water … you can try a pool store test but they are not the most conclusive.
