I have air entering the system which I know the source but can't fix yet. I had a thought about the air relief valve. I had a new boiler heat system installed in the house for heating the house. They installed an automatic air relief valve that removes any air that enters the system. Do they have something similar for pool filters? It sounds like it would make sense to have it be automatic instead of manually releasing the air each time.

They do, but not all filters have one externally or on top. Some filters simply allow the air to pass to the pressure side and out the jets. Some filters, like yours, have an internal air bleed. See the parts breakdown below.
