Hi everyone,

I changed the gauge of my sand filter today because it wasn’t working. I watched some videos on how to do this. I turned my pump off and clorinator. Unscrewed the gauge and some water came out. Since this was unexpected my reaction was to put the gauge in anyway to avoid the water from coming. It worked.

I put Teflon tape to the gauge as indicated.

My issue now is that my gauge does move as intented but it marks 1 (0-60 PSI) is that normal? Also I have a weird sound on my filter maybe some air? What can I do to fix this? There isn’t any leaks anywhere and the flow on the jet is working as intented.

I think I can’t blow some air out of the filter but I don’t know how.

Maybe I don’t know how to read it. Perhaps it’s fine? Also I don’t hear a strange noise anymore, but would like to know what that was so I can avoid it in the future

Should not have water. Likely got water in vent hole when you installed it with water flowing. In the future turn the MPV to off, should stop water flow.

Check the item description on your gauge. Some come filled with glycerin to help with stability and accuracy.
Thanks, it doesn’t really indicate it has any of that. I guess I should be fine for this season? The gauge seems to work, but maybe since it has water it would need to be replaced next year

Just to be clear, on some gauges, the face itself is filled with glycerin fluid...like this one.

ah no, mine did not have anything. The water came in because when I was installing there was some water coming out from there. I hope it isn't an issue in its functionality aside from the water creating some condensation. if its good for this season I think ill leave it like this for now.
