Cloudy pool won't clear

It has nothing to do with "turnover time" ...
It kinda does - if the pool system was able to filter 27,000 gal in 4 hrs vs 24 hrs (all other efficiencies being equal) then the clearing of suspended material would happen 4 times faster.
This is NOT to say that there is anything wrong with the OP's setup. It obviously has done the job for a long time. It's just being stress tested in this situation. And given the little bit of information about the system, just suggesting that more patience may be needed, as aggravating as a slow to clear situation may be.

The SLAM and DE suggestions are the real course of action to speed things up.

*6 times faster. 😁

But more flow means more mixing making it increasingly harder to get that last bit filtered. At first, progress comes fast because all/most of the water going through the filter needs filtering. But progress slows considerably as you go. IMO the hydrolics charts miss by a mile in the real world.

....
Oops!

Fought the undersized filter battle for literally decades. So I'm hyper aware - probably too much for this case. At least I learned a bit of patience waiting the week or two or three it would take to clear.....and never got TFP clear.

We just got back from our weekend away. The wife went to the store and added a 32 ounce bottle of HTH drop out floc unbeknownst to me. We do not own a vacuum, We have a robot. Awesome.

Ugh...

Some ideas for you...
1 - Rent a sump pump and rig-up a vacuum to that out to waste.
2 - Cut your PVC line after the pump and before the filter just to install a valve to create a waste function.
3- Run your robot, pump off. Multiple times.

Open the skimmer cover and look on the backside of the cover for manufacturer and model number of the skimmer...get a plat for that skimmer.
