Hello fellow TFP’ers.

Original concrete deck paint is 8 years old and starting to show its age. I figured this was a relatively simple process but after reading some posts perhaps not. Im assuming the original paint was acrylic and assume I could just use some cool deck acrylic paint over the decking. Any thoughts either for or against or tips? I can live with aged decking if that means I don’t have resurface to concrete then paint. Thanks in advance.

Show us a few pics of your deck, including any problem areas.
Any idea what the original material used was?

Preparation is key - and will probably take the longest.

Hey there. No real “problem areas” it’s just a few chips and it’s dull in color. Being a light color it’s just showing it’s ago. Here are a couple pictures. I believe it was acrylic originally but not sure (super shady pool builder back when). I’d like to believe after 8 years and still in fairly good shape it’s acrylic. IMG_1274.jpegIMG_1273.jpeg

I should have added the only chips I have is where the older pre existing concrete I had, had texture topping added then painted.
