Holding at 16 again after being at 16 last night and evening etc.
later today is a full vaccum.
Then if no spots visible I am going to drain to below skimmer. Plug skimmer and return with the adaptors I have. And cover.
Any advice for any chemicals to add or a number to get to before I cover?
Then come tomorrow or after that take off the filter hoses and probably pump motor after winterizing the filter per Pentair instructions.

You want SLAM FC, 40% of your CYA, or 16FC for 40 CYA......... or half SLAM (8) and Polyquat60 (non copper based algecide). We're pretty much split down the middle with those 2 and nobody is wrong IMO.

Pull the drain plugs on all the equipment. Then either leave it in place or store it as per your preference. Empty all the hoses/pipes and put them in the shed/basement.

I do have a Pressure side vac coming tomorrow via Amazon. Will run it then Check FC (I'm down from 20 to 16 today hopefully that's normal. After being 20 when I slammed it the previous 3)

28001E Intex Auto Pool Cleaner

I had the older version of that one and was able to use pvc fittings to attach it to my return after unscrewing the jet.
This newer one has a different fitting that is made to the one piece hose so you may have to modify differently like shown here

the old version had a multi piece hose & I was able to add to it for my large pool.

Thanks. I saw that on a YouTube video from someone who said he likes it so much he would buy one per season if he had to. And looked it up on a few reviews so am prepared and I believe I have the fittings and ready for it. 👍🏻

Question for you how long was the hose that came with it? It looks like it's only 24 feet unfortunately

I don’t recall but it was too short for my 33’ round pool so I used some of the hoses from my Mamba cleaner that I hate
These
& some left over intex hoses from my various old pools as the old one was just multiple intex hoses put together.

Well back to the hardware store. Everything I had won't work due to the smaller hose on the intex and the non thread pool side return jet outlet having no outside threads. How important is the micro screen that goes inside the hose adaptor (dark grey in picture)?

The old version didn’t have a screen so I would say not very important. You going with the hose clamp for the hose?

Yes if I have to and it won't do the twist and lock function. It spits off with how I tried it earlier with everything I had laying around. I was so excited until then 😆
I have a 1.5 hp pump & 2 returns & i still had to throttle it down a little with a ball valve or it moved too quickly. The old version would allow water to escape from the various hose connections (it was designed that way) so I imagine it would be even more pressure with a solid hose. You may have to tinker with it a bit. Even with the quirks it is a great value for the service it provides.

And we are off..with the 1 1/2" right reducer to 1 1/4" bushing. Now to add another hose clamp it keeps popping off I feel the barb end isn't long enough. So far I love the little guy though until the hose popped off.IMG_9207.jpegIMG_9208.jpeg
