My SWG was set @ 15% since my pool was opened end of May. I added stabilizer in June for CYA of 40, and it has not since fallen below 60. My low FCl/ TCl (1.5- 2.5) levels have required me to intermittently "super chlorinate" for periods of 6- 8 hrs, which up to now has succeeded in increasing my Cl to levels (5.0) per the CYA/ Cl level chart on they website. This was working fine until my last attempt when the FCl only increased to 2.5. Is it time to increase the SWG percentage? Is there a formula for this? My pump runs 9am- 830pm. Thank you!

Use pool math, select effects of adding and “SWG”

Enter the info about pool and SWG (rates output in pounds) and then pump time and it calculates FC for you

You can play around with % and pump
Time to find a new Fc level

For example in this screenshot my IC40 is rated to generates 1.4 lbs/day

Thank you. Does the 24hr SWG output automatically populate based on entered pool volume, type of salt cell, etc? Mine comes up @ 0.53, does that seem right? If so, do I then enter SWG percentages until I see the appropriate "raise FC by X?

Your Member profile shows you have a T5 cell. Poolmath does not have that one in it as it is very unusual. Can you confirm you have a T5 or the more likely T3.

Hayward TurboCell S3 TCELLS315. Is this a T3? If so, I entered it wrong, thank you for pointing that out.

In your climate, I would target a 3 ppm FC per day add by your SWCG.
At 11 hours per day, that is a setting of 60% on your SWCG generation.

Try that, test FC every other day or so, and see if the FC rises or falls. Adjust as necessary.

So appreciative of your help and expertise , 1st summer with the pool, lots to learn but determined to figure it out!

Great. You should be ramping up your SWCG generation, based on testing, from opening to July. Then in late August, start the ramping down of SWCG generation, based on testing, until you close the pool.

Plan on using liquid chlorine once the water temp drops below a certain level (for me is 50 deg, but unsure of T3) until you close the pool. At some point water temp is too cold for a SWG to work
