Hi all,
Purchased a couple of these valves on Amazon from what seemed to be a pool store, but they don't feel new/genuine so wanted to get your thoughts.

Are they made in Mexico now?
On the inside at top and bottom pivots of the gate it seems like there's a heavy coating of lube.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Thanks all. Appreciate the replies. Was concerned that they might be rebuilt because the one mangled screw head, and didn't know if there should be lube one a "never lube" valve. I guess I'll give them a try if they look legit.

Can’t comment on the screw but I wouldn’t worry much about it. “Never Lube” refers to the marketing lingo that you the owner/consumer “never” have to lube it yourself, in contrast to the older Jandy valves that had a nipple on the side for regularly adding lube. They should still come lubed from the factory. I’d still disassemble these “Never Lubes” and lube the o-rings and the diverter seal about once every two years to keep the o-rings, diverter, and sealing surface in good working order.
