Cloudy Water

Hi TFP,

I need some of your expert inputs. I tested the water yesterday after being away for a few days and there was a rain storm. The water was cloudy. My FC was a big fat zero so I added Liquid chlorine to boost it. But same problem today. I have a 36k galllon swg pool. Any ideas? I am wondering if my salt cell might be the problem.

Follow the SLAM Process

Hi all, I am following the slam process and it is working (wohoo!). As I am rechecking my chlorine levels, my initial slam target was 12 and I have reach fc 11. But I also used dichlor since I also wanted to increase my cya. My cya is now 50 from 30 originally.do I need to recalculate my SLAM target based on new cya?

Yes and do not add any more dichlor. Use liquid chlorine.

yes. Follow the SLAM levels shown in PoolMath. Just use the SLAM slider.

Thank you both for your inputs. So with the current FC and CYA, the pool math app is saying new target is 20 FC. That seems very high no?

No. That is the SLAM level for a CYA of 50.
