Did I burn my pump???

I have been through low temp before and never had a problem just keeping the pool running (TN...we don't get a lot of hard freezes).

I just went to check the pool (slacked the last few days) and the basket was brown and the water was hot :(
Still running.
I shut it off.

We are up to 32 at the moment and will have highs in the 50's-60's in a few days.

I am guessing that the Filter froze up...
What do I need to test when it opens back up?

Unless you have enough time to really diagnosis everything before dark you should probably start draining everything. Pull every drain plug now and protect the skimmer with some cut up pool noodles or a half-filled plastic jug. Maybe unscrew one end of your SWG as well. Once you have better weather or enough time to fill everything back up and start the system, check to see if the pump will prime or if it leaks. Your signature doesn't say anything about your pump, so if you have problems be sure to update that info and/or include some pics of your pump and equipment.

I think the pipes to and from the pump are frozen

All you can do is open all drains. If the pad isn't covered, you might do that as well and perhaps add a light underneath in such a way to not get wet but add some warmth underneath. From there, only time will tell once everything is thawed. Be sure to protect the skimmer. You don't want to add to problems by having the skimmer body crack. Good luck!

As mentioned, just open as many drain plugs as possible and shut power off to everything. My pool is frozen solid with an inch+ of ice. Anything not buried in the ground is likely frozen solid at the moment.

All you can do is try turning it back on next weekend after it’s thawed and see what’s broke/leaking.
