I am looking to replace the old 300w bulbs in my Amerilite fixtures with a new color LED Bulb. I have a Jandy iAqualink Control System. I've narrowed down the replacement to the following choices:

1) J&J Colorsplash LXG-W
Pros: Dedicated White LEDs, Works with iAqualink setting to Pentair Intellibrite 5G setting
Cons: Potentially low wattage (but maybe offset by additional white LEDs?), only 5 preset colors (no cyan or purple)

2) Pooltone 16 Color LED
Pros: 35 watts (so potentially brighter?), 7 Solid Colors
Cons: To change color must use/on off method, light shows seem less interesting

Both of these lights seem to get good reviews and seem like a step up from the random Amazon bulb. Has anyone compared these or have a great/bad experience with either? Are any of my pros/cons off base? Any other light I should look at? Thanks in advance!

I used to have a 22w white bulb in my pool light at the end of my pool, about 37' long. While not as bright as the incandescent, the light is very white (incandescent is more yellow) and lit the pool satisfactorily from one end to the other. Those bulbs by J&J are very bright. Haven't seen the Pooltone ones in a pool.
Let my daughter talk me into getting a color changing kit from Pentair (no longer available). It is bright and was cute for a while, but the novelty of colors does wear off (quickly in my case).

I understand that the colored lights may very well lose their luster (no pun intended) after a while. But, one of my current bulbs bit the dust so I have to replace at least 1 anyways. Since I'm only do the bulbs and not running wire for whole new fixture, it isn't expensive to just replace all 3 lights. I figure why not go for the colored ones - I can always just run white if I tire of it, but nice to have the option.

I'm getting close to purchasing one of the two lights listed. I THINK I'm leaning towards the J&J Colorsplash LXG-W. I have discovered that while only 5 solid preset colors, you can also color lock on any color that is displayed in the light show giving you one dedicated custom color. I also like the fact that it will work a little more seamlessly with the iAqualink using the Pentair setting. But I am still open to any input if anyone has any experience with either of these bulbs!
