Sand in the pool

It’s summer in the desert. I gave up on pool covers helping keep the sand out of the pool. If you live in the desert (I’m in Yuma AZ), you know what I’m talking about. After wind gusts, we get so much sand in our pool. We have an inground cleaning system that clears larger debris, but the fine sand gets stuck in the pebble tech and doesn’t seem to get blown to the drain at all. Every two weeks or so, our grey, blue pool water color looks green because of the sand accumulating in The pebble tech. What this means is this 63 year old guy needs to brush down the sides of the pool and then get in the pool and brush the sand to the middle drain. I am really sore after doing this and always think there must be a better solution for this. I did think the pool cover was the answer but all the dirt and decree just fall or float off the cover when removing it. Any suggestion or solutions are appreciated (especially by my back).

Those work great, when they work. Sounds like yours is not.
@proavia can help if that needs tuning.

Robots are a great choice for cleaning a pool of sand. Mine works great. They are a consummable item, not cheap, that last on average 4-5 years.

Some sand and grit will settle into the pebble when using an IFCS. Brushing will usually get it out.

Fill out your signature with pool, pool equipment (manufacturer and model numbers) and test kit.
This assists us in providing help specific to your pool without needing to ask each time.

What IFCS do you have?
What speed(s) are you running the pump and for how long?

If the IFCS won't blow the sand out and toward the main drains, a robot or possibly a suction side cleaner run a few times a week may help.
