Sorry, slight misnomer in the subject, as we have not yet added salt and are currently "fresh". We are just past start up (in second month), but have not added salt because we need to drain 1/3 of the water soon to do a small repair, so we did not want to have to correct the salt twice. But we are liking the pool as is. We have a two-tank Intellichem (acid/chlorine) that is working well (and I'm also testing regularly with the full TFTest kit), we have a dog that drinks the water, and we have a $20K cover that Aquamatic says doesn't really love the salt.
So, question is really about the IC60, which is plumbed inline: Is there any issue with simply disconnecting it from power and leaving it where it is? This would give me very easy ability to convert to salt water later, if we decided that makes sense. I suppose I could also make up a piece of PVC with unions to put in place of the IC60, but wondering if it's really necessary.
Everything is ready to add salt, we're just having second thoughts now that everything is working well, and we've always had a fresh water pool.
Thanks for your input!
