New pool and deck jet issue.

We had a new in ground pool installed few months back. Everything was ok at first and now we have a problem with one of our deck jets. It has distorted water pattern no mater what I do.

How can I attached a short video ?

We have valves for each of the jets on the system. Even If I try to close most of the supplays and only have that jet on it does not change anything so it’s not the water pressure.

Any suggestion would be great, thank you?

Have you taken the jet apart to see if it is obstructed? With new construction it’s common that pvc shavings, dried glue or plaster has made its way to the jet.

Thank you for replaying . I have taken it a part but could not see anything. I’m going do do more exploring this weekend. Is there a way to check pipe for leaks ? Like pressure test to rule that out ? Or can I use compressor to blow air through the line to clear it out of any obstructions ?

I will call pool company as well to see if that have another jet nozzle I can try.

Yes their is a tool that you connect to a garden hose and it has a canvas outer bag that seals the pipe while forcing water into the pipe, I’ll take a picture of one tomorrow and post it for you.
Trying another jet nozzle is a good idea also.
Is the deck jet plastic or brass?
Pressure testing the pipes should be done by a professional due to the damage that can occur if done incorrectly.
Using an air compressor is also something to be very careful about, air will compress and may build up too much pressure and cause damage.
Water will not compress and the chances of over pressurizing is less likely.

The nozzle is plastic. I can use water to run a test would that be safe the instead of compressor air ? Please post a picture of that tool. I see if I can find one.

I also realize that if I go to “recycle” on my filter head it gets a lot more pressure instead of being in “filter” position. Would that be normal? Just want to exhaust all of my options before I call the contractor and complain about this issue.
