I'm finally getting my pool chemistry balanced out. I had a pool guy for a few months but I was doing more to balance the water than he was so I'm taking it on full time now that I have less travel in my schedule. My pool has been running since Mid February and CYA being super low has been a problem. I've worked the past few weeks to get it up and here are my current readings:

FC - 10(ran my pump all night because i added stabilizer yesterday and forgot to turn my SWG down). Usually around 6 or 7
PH: 7.8 - this tends to drift high quickly but i think that was really due to my CYA being so low. Or at least i believe that could be a contributing factor based on what i've read on here. Plus its a new pool.
TA - 70
CH - 360
CYA - 60
Salt - 3400

I tested my fill water today and it's TA - 100 and PH 7.6. Do these numbers sound right for fill water? I didn't test my CH because it's been really consistent at 360 all 3+ months it's been running.

Now that I have my CYA up should i be able to just check it monthly? I did raise it to around 40 a few weeks ago but it seemed to be dropping to around 35 within a few weeks. We had a few inches of rain and really hot weather but i feel like that was a quick drop. My pool is small so the rain and evaporation could be causing the CYA to drop a little quicker than normal.

All you numbers look good and normal. You might consider adding another 10 ppm worth of CYA is the pool gets a lot of direct (hot) sun and/or if you find the FC falling a bit too fast. Other than that, looks good. :goodjob:
It definitely gets a lot of sunlight so I’ll have to monitor that.

Your situation and water chemistry is good.
Relative to your comment, your pH rise is not related to your CYA levels. While CYA is slightly acidic and it may lower your pH slightly when adding CYA (use pool Math to estimate) it will not raise or affect your pH otherwise.
Your fill water at 100ppm TA will add TA each time you top off, or auto fill your pool and over time may raise your pool TA which with splashing and aeration will raise your pH. Simply lowering your pH with Muratic Acid will bring your TA back down again. All good, just a little detail.

Thanks that’s the way I understood the TA and PH relationship.
