Got my betta bot in

Got my betta bot in! So far so good. Tossed the bot in the water, right out the box at around 1745, still going right now at 2310! I could see a difference within the first 45 minutes! Granted, my pool is only 5.5k gallons, but still! I hope it's as awesome as it seems and saves me some skimming and skimmer cleaning time!

My oldest son was supervising, making sure the robot did it's thing. It kinda gets a little stuck in the tanning ledge with the walls and umbrella pole, but he makes his way out.

I will be checking the basket after work today, it will have been 24 hours.

Betta gets trapped in the tanning ledge due to the small space and umbrella pole. The bot has these legs that extend below it to prevent it from going into too shallow water; however, the tanning ledge is just deep enough that the bots legs don't reach the edge. If they were a bit longer, I could use them to keep him out of the tanning ledge. I am not really concerned as it eventually makes its way out with a 232-point turn lol

I am not sure how charged the batteries were right out the box, but it probably only got about 2-3 hours of sunlight yesterday and ran all through the night.

If anyone wants any pictures or has specific questions, let me know.

I will be contacting Instapark and let them know about the "issues" I have, maybe something they can look into, like supplying longer legs?

Great to hear! I ordered the blue version as well - was originally scheduled to show up tomorrow, but shipping delay pushed it to Monday :(

Also that's a super cute little pool!

The little bot really cleans!

Thanks, that's as big of a pool a we could fit in the back! Would've liked a bigger one, but this is enough for hanging out and having drinks lol

My Betta 2 arrived on Friday and I finally had a chance to deploy her today. I back up to a wooded area, so we have a constant stream of stuff blowing into the pool and the light stuff has trouble getting picked up by the skimmers. I am very impressed, does a great job picking up the small/light stuff! Has a rotating brush on the front that pushes debris into the filter. It navigates our tanning ledge without getting stuck, but I could see if the water gets too low then it might be an issue. It's almost 11PM and she it still going. My only issue is with our Dolphin robot, you cannot have both going simultaneously as the Betta gets hung up on the cord. I'm considering doing what someone else did and adding weights to the Dolphin robot cord, but for now will plan to pull the Betta when I'm using the Dolphin.

Right?! It works awesome! I didn't know it had the spinning thing inside until i opened it!

I have the same issue with it running at the same time as my cleaner, it gets hung up on the hose. It's not terrible though, i really only run the cleaner once or twice a week for an hour.

I had to remove the umbrella so it wouldn't get trapped in the tanning ledge. Worth it to not have to skim the pool manually lol. My skimmers where pretty empty when i checked them this weekend.

The mesh in the basket is so fine, it catches everything!

I was wondering the same thing, since my Dolphin essentially lives in the pool.

Got my Betta 2 in yesterday afternoon, ordered blue version but they sent me white unfortunately but I don't care enough to return. I unboxed it and immediately threw it into the pool, I loved that there were no cables or batteries or anything - just the unit and optional remote control. Besides a ~2hr break to let the kids swim it's literally been running non-stop overnight and this morning and the pool surface looks immaculate. I purposely didn't skim yesterday and after a few hours it had picked up almost all surface debris along with very fine pollen which is a major headache for me.

I noticed it briefly got caught yesterday between the ladder and the wall, because the gap is almost the exact length of the Betta - I freed it with my hand as I was out there but I assume it would have freed itself eventually after a ~30 point turn. I haven't attempted to run it at same time as floor robot, as others mention I expect it to bump into the cable but also feel like it's better than nothing and might be worth keeping in?

So far I'm really impressed with this thing.

I only run my dolphin at night. During the day I run the beta, and I leave the dolphin on the pool deck. It’s not particularly good to leave the dolphin robots in the pool 24/7 as apparently it reduces their life, and they begin to leak.

Right, I meant keeping them both in during a cleaning for a few hours - not indefinitely. I try and pull my Dolphin out soon after it's finished a session.

This is what I do as well. I turn the Betta off when I put the Dolphin in. After the Dolphin's 2 hour cycle I pull the Dolphin and re-start the Betts. Seems to work well for me. When I'm on vacation I decide whether I'm gonna leave the Betta in the pool or the Dolphin, based on weather forecasts or something less scientific.

When I left for vacation last year I only had the beta running and I paid someone come over and clean it out every day. I managed to get a lot of stuff on the bottom of the pool and it was a mess because of not running the dolphin. I get a ton of debris in this pool and if I don’t run both robots every day it becomes a mess. This year I’m just going to put the safety cover on and just let the pump run. Seems the easiest thing to do to not have to worry about it at all and not have to pay someone to babysit the pool when I’m on vacation. Putting the safety cover on and off isn’t a huge deal.

What kind of safety cover do you have?
Thanks.

I’ll have to check the paperwork when I get home for the brand. The guy that replaced my liner measured for it and ordered it and drilled the concrete and installed all the anchors. It’s mesh, but not the see though type.

It's basically whats used mostly for over winter but can see it being used if someone is away for a while.
Yep, that’s correct. It’s not hard to take on and off with two people. It’s much less effort then what I had to deal with last summer. I paid someone to clean out the beta, didn’t get him to run the dolphin and had a ton of leaves on the bottom of the pool when we returned. Also had an area of algae starting to grow. Only had been gone a week, not sure what happened. Had to SLAM the pool and it was kind of a pain. So this year when we go on vacation, we are just going to cover it and let the filter and SWG run. Also feel better about it from a liability standpoint. Not that any of the neighbors kids would, but they could try and use it when we are gone. Safety cover would negate that possibility all together.

Got it and appreciate it.
