I am having an issue trying to clear up the water in my pool. I have attached the current chemical tests that I took today using my Taylor k2006c kit. I have been using 10% liquid chlorine to try and keep the pool at SLAM levels, but it doesn't appear to be getting much clearer after two days.

Starting the pool season, the TA was about 380. I have since dropped that down to about 200 using 2 gallons of muriatic acid and aeration to increase the PH.

The CYA level is about 10 right now and I continue to add more via the sock method I've heard so much about.

My CC levels are through the roof and I don't know if this is normal or just because I am in the midst of opening the pool and trying to get it cleared up.

Any advice on FC levels that I should be at or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Your FC should be higher than 2. CYA of 10 isn’t even on the FC/CYA Levels so I’d try to keep FC around 10 until you get that CYA up to 30. Also, for a SLAM, you should really aim to have your PH at 7.2, so some more muriatic acid wouldn’t hurt as it will lower both your TA and your PH.

It sounds like you’ve got some major organic activity going on. I wouldn’t expect to see much of a change in two days, especially if your FC levels have been that low the entire time. Have you been following the SLAM Process to a tee?

Ok, I just added in 4 gallons of bleach. I'll add some more acid tomorrow, going to need that anyway to get the TA down. I will continue to keep the FC at 10-12 until I get the CYA up high enough.

Don’t worry with it too much.
To get it down you need to add MA and aerate until pH raises enough to repeat.
If you leave it be your pH will drift upwards faster and you will add MA more frequently what will in turn reduce TA.

Just adding large amounts of chlorine without regard to what your CYA is risks you bleaching your liner. Be ware of that.

The CC level you are showing is abnormal. Check your testing process. If it is that high, there are only a couple things that can drive it that high.

If you have a ton of CC it's possible you have ammonia in your water. If it's Ammonia the chlorine demand will be a lot in the beginning. Ammonia will convert CYA to more Ammonia.

I've done the same test about 3x now. Following the process to the letter. I've got results ranging from 12-17ppm for the CC each time. I will check it again tomorrow after seeing if the higher FC level makes a difference. I think the highest I've had it before was only 3, hopefully this will get it up into the 10-12 range and actually super chlorinate the pool.

I just ran out of the rest of my stabilizer pods, I'll have to grab another several lbs tomorrow and keep adding them to get those levels up. Hopefully the high amount of bleach will kill off whatever is making the CC level so high. Honestly, in the last 2 years, I don't think the water has ever had stabilizer added, so maybe that is the issue.

CC levels that high are caused by ammonia or sulfamic acid. I assume you have not added sulfamic acid. Ammonia is possible, but you reported 2 ppm FC earlier, and that is not possible with ammonia in the water.

Yah, the FC level has been holding in the range of 0.6 to 2.0. I will try the CC test again tomorrow and see if I've been doing something wrong. Regardless, I don't think I've ever reached high enough FC levels to clear the pool.

It actually should not have a smell, what you smell is Combined Chloamines. I just wanted to confirm that you could smell them because you certainly should if they are that high. Normally, you should not smell that "pool smell". It's a sign there is something in the water getting turned into CCs.
Have you tested your chlorine about 30 minutes after adding it.
I'm not sure I would add CYA just yet...
