Hello! We have owned our pool for over 10 years. I took a water sample to Leslies and salt level is 4197. The system fluctuates between 2600 and 2700. At 2700 we are fine as system will still generate chlorine. I tried switching unit off and on and then supercholorinate on and off and switched from overflow to pool only to get the unit to display 2700 for a short period. I know I need to get salt level down in my pool. But how do I correct reading please?

My guess is your cell is depleted. You can not correct the reading. But let’s look at the diagnostics…
SWG Cell Basic Diagnostics
- Report all readings when you..
- Go to the diagnostic screen, note the readings and then press the + button to reverse the polarity.
- When the new numbers appear, see what they are.
- Then, press + again and note the new readings.
- What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
Thank you Allen. I run the diagnostics all the time to try and get the low salt light to disappear so am well aware of what you are saying. The salt generator was inspected at pool store and was told that the unit was working fine. So frustrating as it seems on the aquarite
system I have read that there is a way to adjust the reading to tell the unit what the salt reading truly is. Where exactly do I find the serial numbers please?

Get the Taylor salt test kit. Do not rely on the salt cell reading or the Pool Store.

The cell is saying low salt. The pool store says it is like 4,400. I made the unfortunate mistake of believing the cell and added a ton of salt.
The cell is a couple years old. I did the diagnostic and reversed it.
The 1st time it read: -27.39V. -3.47A
78 degrees F. 1300 PPM
The 2nd time it read: +27.56V. +3.27A
78 degreesF. 1200 PPM
I am going to ask hubby to check circuit board for broken/missing solder....?
I misread what you stated above. I will look for the Taylor salt test kit.

Thanks, regardless we need to have the Aqua Logic reading correct salt level in order for chlorinator to work. It is now showing only 1000, so we know something is off.

The Aqualogic has NO ability to read the correct salt level. It does not have a salinity sensor.
The Aqualogic looks up the predicted salt level a new cell would have based on the volts and amps the cell uses and displays it. As your cell gets used up the displayed salt level diverges from the actual salinity.
Thanks Allen, update looks like it was the circuit board. Hubby re-soldered the same item and now the system is reading 3500 and chlorinating with no low salt level reading. Interesting info on the cell. Will have to watch and see if it starts to decline again. The cell is a few years old. We also cleaned the cell. Thanks for this forum. Fingers crossed for continued chlorination.
