DFW plaster and fill! Start up question

Well, now I'm feeling pretty great about the price I'm paying! $77K total for twice that size pool with a heat pump, only water feature is a bubbler in the tanning ledge, and almost 1300sf of decking!
Yeah but keep in mind your not always comparing apples to apples in the pool world. There’s a lot of stuff that can significantly drive price up. Take plaster for one. You could the bottom line pebble for $8-12k cheaper than the high end stuff. The decking is significantly different. As an example going from “concrete” type decking to travertine could be significant. Number of lights in the pool, type of lights, type of automation, additional products like Chillers, etc. point is you can’t just say well my pool is bigger and I didn’t pay as much for it. Just to variable.

Electric came out Friday 1/28. I noticed after the fact that two lights seemed too close together. PB is coming out Monday to measure everything and mark where the lights should go. I think he should've marked the lights for them in the first place lol.

Gunite won't happen Tuesday because they already have some other pools they need to do that were pushed back due to the cold weather. They said Friday if the weather is ok, but of course we have our first winter storm now headed our way and will hit on Thursday. So that's definitely not happening. Maybe the following week though!

Absolutely agree it's not only about size of pool, but I was comparing to someone who was quoted $90k for 16x20 4-6 depth BEFORE the patio, no spa, no cover, with basic tile etc. to start in August.

Time for an update!
We did not manage to get gunite before a winter storm came through at the beginning of Feb. Between the freezing rain, then snow, then melting we had a side collapse. It could've been much worse and the PB had guys out on 2/8 and 2/9 fixing it. The weather did a complete 180 and we had 60 and 70 degree weather most of this week. Perfect for gunite and it was done yesterday, 2/11. The weather turned very cold today but it's supposed to warm up again. PB said to water 2x per day. Quite a chore because all the trenches for plumbing and electrical are still open and hard to navigate while spraying water. Grateful we don't have to do it every couple hours like we'd probably have to in the summer lol.

One of my Hayward microbright lights is 2.5" - 3" higher than the other in the side wall of my pool. Of course it's the one that's suppose to light up the deep end.
I could possibly live with it. Wondering what the best way to move it would be? Anyone have experience with uneven lights?IMG_3571.jpg

You builder needs to core drill a hole for a new 1.5” pipe, connect it to your electrical conduit, and pull out the other pipe and hydraulic cement the hole. Just work and $.

Since my questions keep getting merged to this new build thread, I'll try asking here and hopefully people can see it.
Does anyone have the Stonescapes Puerto Rico Blend Small French Gray for their pool finish? Pics would be greatly appreciated!

To find colors of different plaster finishes look at the Pool Finish and Color Viewing Room.
Hi, I've looked through that thread completely. I've seen it recommended by other people. No examples of Puerto Rico blend small French Gray. I think that thread would be more helpful if it was broken down into the different brands since most people building pools only have access to one brand (whoever the PB uses). Just food for thought!

PB was kind enough to move the light without any pushing from me. Definitely looks a lot better.
Tile and coping was finished last Thursday, 2/17. Pool decking is being set up today and inspector is coming tomorrow. Due to bad weather the rest of the week they will pour decking next week.
Having the worst time choosing a mini pebble color. It seems almost impossible to find French Gray examples online (touch of glass and puerto rico blend even more impossible!). Also considering Salt & Pepper just because it matches so nicely with the coping and tile. The darker sample in the pic is actually Caribbean Blue. Didn't have a French Gray sample available.
