I’ve been using this website/method to maintain my pool for 5 years (Thanks!!). It’s just so easy once everything clicks in place and I guess I got a little lazy this year not testing as much as I should. The first week of September, we went out of town for a week so I brought the chlorine up to shock level (16) with liquid chlorine and put two chlorine tabs in the floater, then put the solar cover on. Since we’ve been home I take the cover off most days from around 2:30 - 6:30 pm ish. I have not had to add any more chlorine since before we left for vacation. Just ran full tests today for probably the first time in at least 6 weeks. Here are my numbers.
FC 9
PH 7.2
CYA 40
TA 50
CH 75
Water temp 76
Normally my TA and PH are never this low. It’s been locked in at TA 90 and PH 7.6 for literally years. Do I need to worry since I think they are technically still in the correct parameters? Is it normal for chlorine to dissipate so slowly when the pool is covered and colder temperature? This is the first year I have actually left the solar cover on for more than a few days.
