Pentair IC40 flashing red/green

Hi guys! Just moved into a home with pentair easytouch/penrair IC40 system. Salt reading was showing 1950. Before adding salt, we cleaned salt cell first. Now the IC40 will not get up and running. It just continues to cycle the flashing red/green ‘low’ and ‘good” lights in an alternating fashion With solid green “flow” and sanitizer output at 80% and ”status” lights for both “cold water” and “cell” are not lit. This goes on for a couple minutes and then it is as if it tries to restart again.

I ran the diagnostics by holding the “more” button down for a few seconds and believe the cell life shows it has only used up 20%.

any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Welcome to TFP! If the cell displays salt at 1950 then you need to add salt to make the cell happy.

However, how are you testing your water? Do you have a Taylor K-1766 salt test? You don’t want to blindly add salt but the cell won’t run with salt that low.

Thank you an1vrsy! I have ordered that salt level test kit and will use it before I add additional salt. Once I confirm the low reading from the IC40 was accurate I will add the salt and hope the cell kicks into gear! Thank you again!
