Hayward automation cost

I'm getting really confused here. PB quoted Hayward equipment (Tri-star VS 950 pump, AquaRite T Cell 940, Swim clear Multi 425 filter, Hayward 400,000 BTU heater, 4 pool lights). When I asked about additional cost for automation, I was quoted $3K for Omnihub.

Do I need different pump and SWG for connecting to Omnihub (I saw something about a "Tri-star VS 950 Omni" pump, is this the same as the base pump I was quoted?)
Does $3K sound right for adding OmniHub to my setup?
What needs to change on the equipment side that might be making this so expensive?
Can I seamlessly add OmniHub later on or should I do it now if I want automation?

The Tristar 950 pump, Aquarite, and heater should all connect to the OmniHub.

The Tristar 950 Omni bundles basic automation in the pump electronic controls. Consider that you can't replace that pump with another model without losing your Omni automation. Separate systems are better long term.

I talked to a pool tech today about different SWCG to purchase and it was stated that the Hayward had the best deal now as they are offering a 4 yr warranty. It was also stated that Hayward recently did an IPO (which is true back in March) and they were being aggressive in the market. So not sure if the person was just trying to push Hayward because of incentives or it is really the better product. But you can verify if the warranty is at 4 yrs. Just thought I pass this on to you since you are considering Hayward equipment.

last year hayward was doing 5yr warranty and $500 if you bought 4 products but I haven't seen anything for this year. hayward offers 3yr warranty if you buy from authorized dealer. let me know if your Pool tech gives you any more info regarding 4yr warranty.

How much should this add to my build, which already includes the t 940 cell?
you can also get it without tcell . i am not sure about pricing every area and dealer is different . i paid around 2k but i know things are different now and they are hard to get.
