Hello.
I received a new SC-60 cell, new cable and Tri-sensor simulator from Josh 3 years ago. After opening the pool I was getting the WARNING LOW AMPS CELL for a few days and then got the CLEAN CELL message.
I had my pool guy come and he put a new Cell in for testing but had the same message. He tried a new Tri-sensor cable but same problem. He then swapped the diplay board but no change. He suggested a new power supply but didn't have one to try. I remembered about the Tri-sensor simulator and put it in line. It showed zero salt (put 280 pounds in so far and was getting a 2800 PPM reading 2 days ago) The temp reading was 78 degrees as expected from the simulator. The voltage showed 0 Volts 5 Amps which I have dealing with on and off for 3 seasons. The purifier showed a low level like %5 with the simulator. But when I unplugged the simulator I got the message PURIFIER OFF CHECK FLOW.
I removed the power supply and brought it to my workshop to look for some visual problem but didn't find anything. The capacitors were not bulging out. I cleaned the fuses and fuse holders.
I also tried measuring the DC voltage at the terminals on the power supply board that go to the Tri-sensor. When starting the system up I would get something around 20 volts but it would shortly drop to 5 volts and the error messages would appear. Another clue- If I wiggled the connector from the display board where it goes in to the power supply board it would click a relay and even after cleaning the terminals with tuner cleaner, it can still be erratic. One fan was dead so I replaced that today. Thank you guys for any help.
