I'm guessing I'm doing okay. Last year I was really worried because I was going through 1/2 gal. of 12% daily, but now, after hearing that's kinda normal, I guess I'm okay. My pool has always been crystal clear, but I have a CYA of 60 to 70 and I'm sure my biggest problem is the organic matter that falls from the trees around my pool.

or liquid chlorine 12.5% or 6% (bleach)

Instant chlorine. Does not add calcium which your pool most likely does not need. Bleach is liquid/ cal hypo is granules that can sit on the surface of your pool and stain it.

Help me understand why instant chlorine which is a liquid, at $6-7 a gallon vs regular household bleach that you can get from grocery store very inexpensive?

is instant chlorine that much stronger to justify or does bleach have other cons to consider?
