This will be my first summer with my pool in south Louisiana. My pool is in complete sun all day. It’s June and the water is already hitting the upper 80s. Needless to say, I’m sure it’s going to be less than refreshing within the next month I’ve been reading about using the fountain wands that you buy or make and insert into one of your returns. I have 5 deck jets and was curious whether I would get better cooling from using the deck jets or a fountain wand or two.

Cooling for what? Do you mean walking into the spray? I don't think that will cool your water anything noticeable if that is what you are asking.
We are in the same situation in Charleston with a pool with no shade. We have found two things that work: this fountain Amazon.com: Nepta Blossoming Water Fountain: Garden & Outdoor running overnight can cool the pool 6-8 degrees or we have two of these rolling umbrella bases https://www.liro.us/ that we move and tilt to shade the pool in the afternoon. Since working from home, we did not have to use the fountain last summer as we were able to move the umbrellas into place and shade the pool to keep it cool (relatively speaking).
I just looked up the fountain you mentioned. That actually doesn’t look bad as well. It hooks directly to a return jet?
Indeed. The pool without shade can get to 94 or 95...it's wet, but that's about all I can say about it's refreshing power at that temp. I have a vs pump and I run it at 2500 rpms which shoots the water about 20 feet in the air and physics evaporative cooling does the rest!

Before my in ground pool, I had an 18' Intex. I built a fountain for it that would spray water 8' high and almost all the way across the pool. It was in full sun and once the water would warm up to 95, I could run it all night and it would cool it off about 4 or 5 degrees. The problem is that once the sun comes up the following day, it heated right back to 95 pretty quickly and running the fountain in the daytime could not overcome the heating effect of the sun so it would warm right back up. So unless I wanted to take a 7am swim...it was practically useless, by the time I would get off of work it was right back to 95/96 degrees.
I now have a 30k gallon in ground, and this is my 1st full summer with it. It is also in full sun, starts to shade out about 6:30pm each day. I am hoping that it will not get as warm as the above ground did...but I know/fear that it will. I have done a good bit of reading...and it would appear that Glacier Pool Cooler will actually cool a pool without using hardly any electricity. There is an upfront cost associated with the unit itself..but the monthly operating cost is next to nothing and it will work during the daylight hours, probably even better if you can put it in the shade somewhere. I refuse to have this big, nice new pool that heats up to 95 degrees....so I foresee something like this in my future.

If you end up trying this evaporation technique for natural cooling, keep a close eye on your pH as it almost certainly going to rise faster than usual.
I was just looking at the chiller you linked! Seems impressive. Have you priced them yet?

About $2k for the one that does a 20k-30k gallon pool. My pool hit 90 today! I will end up with one before the summer is over.
