After our pool company opened our pool this year, I noticed a stain from one of the two return lines to the pool floor. I figured it was organic, but when it didn't go away I put some AA in a skimmer sock and rubbed it along the stain and the entire stain lifted.
I have been puzzled why it would have only been from a single return. Yesterday, I went back to the shed to look at the winterizing plugs and noticed a couple of them were rusty.
Are there better options for plugging the lines in the future? Or, is it just safer to replace these each year? The returns are 3/4 inch PVC and not threaded.
Edit: The pool picture is AFTER the AA treatment cleared the stain.
