As the title states, our dog was able to get through the temporary fence and leave a trail of paw marks in the gunite shell that was just shot an hour or so ago. She went in and out, leaving a trail down the steps to the deep end and back out. Luckily she didn't claw or dig into it. Just a trail of paw marks. How big of a deal is this? Will the plaster smooth over it?

No one will every know but you and the dog.. Gunite is rough and the plaster will easily cover the dog prints.

Kinda brings a tear to my eye that she signed it. Dogs are the best people.
I'm kinda glad I didn't see it happen. I have a feeling I would of freaked out and she would have thought it was a game and caused some real damage!

You got me thinking if we ever move and do a new pool, paw prints!!! Love it!

^^^ What they said - LOVE IT! I'd kill to have my pups prints on the bottom of my pool...
there are mexican clay tiles that occasionally have coyote prints in them from the manufacturer
they lay them in drying fields and wild animals (mostly coyotes) will sometimes do what animals do - if you get them in your batch it is considered good luck (plus a cool conversation piece)

I've been think about the prints way too much. Someone needs to try it. Make a print stamp. When the final trowel is done on the plaster lightly make a print and repeat across bottom of pool. It would be so slight you would not see it during the day. The magic would happen when the pool light(s) come on.
