Looking for suggestions on a timer that can control both my pump/filter and salt water generator at the same time. Happy to hear any recommendations you may have.

The SWG is 120V and i’m pretty sure that the pump can be wired either way.

I have a plug in timer that has 2 outlets
I only have my pump on it now but when I change swg’s i still intend to use it

Unfortunately I have a twist lock receptacle. So i’m guessing I have to hardwire a timer as I don’t see any twist lock timers that can accept two different things (pump and swg).

Probably better anyway, that way you can set the swg for on 30 min after pump & off 30 minutes before pump if you get an intermatic one that can control two things

Most SWGs can run on 120 or 240. Better to run a pump on 240 if you have the choice.

Yo 'Scopes.. What kind of SWG do you have? I don't see one in your sig. So are you DIY inclined and are comfortable pocking around under the hood? Cause if you have a twist lock outlet it may be wired for 240. Have you put a meter on it to figure it out? It your The best way to go is just use an old school Intermatic timers, they can work with 240 or 120VAC, they are designed for pool use and will last forever and parts are easy to come by if you need to service it. Or where you hoping to find a ready made plug in timer similar to what mdragger posted?
Hey there. Thanks for your suggestions. I was just going to hire an electrician to hardwire it all, but I wanted to have the timer ready to go for him/her when they get here. I just don’t know exactly what
timer to purchase that will do what I need.

You can’t believe your pump is 240V, you have to be sure for this discussion.
Post pics of the pump motor data plate and the pump circuit breaker.
Also post a pic of the twist lock outlet your pump is connected to now.

Good point. Motor housing says 115v. I assumed the twist lock meant 240v. I guess I don’t know electrical haha. Now that we know both the pump and SWG is 115v, do you have a recommended timer that can handle both devices at the same time? Or is that not allowed because pump must be only thing on the circuit?

You can’t get there from here. Whatever you do you need to do some electrical wiring. You will not find a plug in solution.
Your twist plug receptacle has cracks in it, is no longer weatherproof, and should be replaced.
You can have an Intermatic T101 timer installed and then hardwire the pump and SWG to the timer box.
Or you can wire a twist lock receptacle for the pump and a regular receptacle for the SWG to the T101 timer.

I appreciate your help. Is it code to do that? I thought pumps have to be on its own dedicated circuit? Or am I misunderstanding what that truly means?

Code used to say that but it changed. Depends what version of the NEC is used in your area.

It should be pretty easy for an electrician to wire things up for you. I think you have two options. Either have the twist lock receptacle replaced with a standard outlet and you can use the timer MDragger suggests. You would have to change the plug on the pump to match. OR a simple Intermatic timer I think would work best (the one Allen recommended). I see you are in NY. do you bring your equipment in for the winter? if so, having plugs would be the easier way to disconnect things. If they stay in place then hardwire the pump and SWG to the timer. That happens to be the way mine is connected, so when the pump runs the SWG does to. When the pump is off, the SWG is off. But I don't have to worry about Nor-Easters and snow.

Had an electrician come out today. He suggested adding another line, so the SWG and the Pump are both dedicated lines. Then adding a timer at the panel box, so they’re out of the rain/weather and will last longer. This is a bit more expensive, but it will allow me to unplug and bring inside during the winter.
