It should be pretty easy for an electrician to wire things up for you. I think you have two options. Either have the twist lock receptacle replaced with a standard outlet and you can use the timer MDragger suggests. You would have to change the plug on the pump to match. OR a simple Intermatic timer I think would work best (the one Allen recommended). I see you are in NY. do you bring your equipment in for the winter? if so, having plugs would be the easier way to disconnect things. If they stay in place then hardwire the pump and SWG to the timer. That happens to be the way mine is connected, so when the pump runs the SWG does to. When the pump is off, the SWG is off. But I don't have to worry about Nor-Easters and snow.
