Save the pucks. If your CYA is low enough, they’re useful when you go on vacations and can’t be adding daily. They’ll add some CYA, but if you’re only doing it for a short time it won’t be a whole lot. And they last forever if you keep them dry.
What is in the powdered shock you have? If it’s Cal hypo, it will add some calcium to your pool and it sounds like you need to add some calcium hardness anyway. So you could chlorinate with that until it’s gone if you do need hardness.
You can wait to return the hardness plus until you see the results of your own hardness test. It might have use. You can get a generic version if you can find calcium chloride 100%, used to melt ice, but that might be difficult in your area.
