Obtaining bids w/o engineered drawing

I have a completed owner build design but not an engineered drawing. I’m holding off on that step until we decide we are doing owner build and not going through a pool company. What subcontractor bids can I obtain with only a design and no engineered drawing?

I'm mainly commenting to give this post a bump. But it would be helpful to know the scale of your build. Do you plan to hire all the subs yourself?

Yes, I am. We are installing a ~550 sq ft pool and spa. We are looking to have it automated, in-floor cleaning (potentially - depending on price), LED lighting, and a couple of deck jets for aesthetics. Attached is a very basic layout that I put together. Currently, our designer is finishing up the professional design.

I would definitely get an engineering diagram because if you dont have one and subs start to do the work and make a mistake then it will be hard to make them accountable. The only subs that could do the work without an engineering diagram are the coping and tile, decking and plaster crews but these are towards the end of the project.

Thanks for the reply. I am not wanting anyone to do work without the engineered drawings. I am just trying to find out what bids (plumbing, electrical, plaster, etc) I can request without having one. I don't want to pay for an engineered drawing if the bids end up being close to what a pool company will charge since the pool company includes the engineering design in their fee. No need to pay for an engineer drawing twice! :)
