Hello! Just found this forum, and excited i stumbled across this. I am in a bit of a hard place. We recently moved to Fort Worth area and the house we bought has a pool. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about pool repair or cleaning. I am eager to learn, but right now our pool is a sitting duck since I don't know how to repair it.

I am wondering if there are any recommendations for a one-time pool opening/repair service within the Fort Worth Area? I have reached out to a couple, <names deleted> and everyone has either flaked or not responded to my call.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Pics always help. Be sure to include good shots of the equipment pad so we can see all the details. There are lots of very knowledgeable people on this forum who love to offer excellent advice. Ask as many questions as you want, we will not be offended.

Hey Everyone,

I am currently working with a 33,000 Gallon chlorine pool. I have a Pentair FNS PLS 60SQ filter, and a Jandy pump. I will attach more pics but it's currently night so I don't know If that would do use any help. I just getting steamrolled with these algae and low chlorine levels constantly. Right now, I can't seem to get my pool to turn not light blue/green. It will go from one looking almost ok to light green quickly. I feel like I am paying a small fortune to Leslies every time i try to get help, with no resolution.

Oh lordie!! <swoons like a good Southerner would> Stay the heck away from Leslie's!! Pool stores are the worst place for you.

What you *must* do is get your own reliable test kit (psssst- I use the TF-100 found at www.tftestkits.net ) and do your own testing.
There are only 2 test kits we endorse- The TF-100 and the Taylor 2006C (has to be C version to get enough reagents). They both use the Taylor reagents. The 2006C kit is a bit harder to find though. The TF-100 is a better buy.

We need test current test results-
FC
CC
pH
TA
CH
CYA
Salt if applicable

Those will tell us a whole lot about the health and sanitation of your water.

How do you chlorinate your pool? What other chemicals has Leslies had you dump in?

For reference, I have a Salt Water Chlorinator and don't spend over $100-$150 dollars a YEAR on my pool, and I've never once had algae. Lets see if we can get you fixed up. There IS a better way than the Pool Store way. I promise.

Welcome to the DFW area and to TFP! Your lucky day was finding this forum! If you want to fix your pool water, you need the right tools. The TF100 kit will let the experts here walk you from a swamp to sparkling water. The testing kit, bleach and muratic acid, are the mainstays. The experts here will chime in here to help!
