Hello,
I feel guilty running a Super II Pump and VSP round the clock when we are having rolling blackouts. Freeze warning was made, I believe for 10-12 hr cycles, not 3-4 days straight.

Therefore, to empty lines, I was going to turn off pumps, then shut off breakers...open pressure relief valve on top of filter. Once I hear no more air, open both pumo basket covers and let all water drain back into pool....should I drain the rest of the water out of the filter?

Anything else? I only have a few more hrs of light...I was going to first add more bleach and acid and let it mix well, when start the process...it's gpong to be 9-10 tonight and below freezing for 3-4 more nights in a row...thanks

I wish all of those impacted by blackouts and busted pipes all the best...

Interesting, I would have thought you need to drain your filters also, but maybe that water drains out of pump?

by opening the filters pressure relief valve, water drains to the level of the PVC lines, the rest of the filter lower half is full of water. My ques is if the remaining water freezes, is the frozen pressure exerted to the sides (bad) or upward to open space (good) ?

Your risk is ice In the bottom cracking the bottom seal plate. Part 18 on page 10.
