Increase 18' x 52" Intex Ultra XTR to 20' x 52"

Last summer I bought the Intex Ultra 18 x 52" above ground pool. I have space for larger 20 ft pool, but not the largest 24 ft XTR pool. Now, the 20 ft version of Intext Ultra XTR is only 20 x 48", but there is a Prism version 20 x 52". I prefer the deeper pool and I already built a (permanent) platform at the 52" height. I should be able to buy 2 extra sets of Ultra XTR replacement posts, junctions, bars and a Prism 20 ft x 52" liner replacement. Would the XTR frame fit this particular setup with Intex Prism liner?

I agree with kimkats. Intex themselves should be able to answer that question. I would THINK that it would work, but it all depends on the size, placement, diameter of cross member pipe sleeve holes and number of cutouts the use for the prism liner itself vs the xtr. Hope intex customer service can assist you. Or maybe you could find dimensions for both pool liners online and compare the critical information you need to know that way.

Is there anything in your original manual that shows part numbers for different pool sizes? The manual that came with my 16x32 Summerwaves had part numbers and quantities for a variety of rectangular pool sizes up to my 16x32. Majority of setup info is the same, so it saves them from having to make multiple manuals.

There’s no way I would pay the current prices for another Intex. I love my 18’ x 52” Ultra Frame that I bought in 2019 for $550 (brand new) but Ultra Frame XTR’s even smaller than mine are going for $1000+ right now. I’m so glad I bought it a year before the pandemic lol

I don’t think going from 18’ to 20’ would be a big enough difference to make it worth it considering the current prices of these pools and only a 2 foot difference in size. I also cannot find Intex replacement liners anywhere. They’ve been sold out for a long time on the Intex website and I can’t find any on eBay. 🙁 Where were you able to find one?

I wish I could answer your question, but I would call and ask Intex just to be sure!

I hear ya! Bought our 16x32 in 2019 for $1,700 (canadian pesos). Same pool last summer was over $3,000.

Friends are looking at a 12x24 to have for 2021 and I think said it was around $2,000 last week.

That is beyond ridiculous!!!! At that price, just buy a real above ground pool haha. That’s what I’m doing and with tax (before installation) it’s around $2000. And it’s for a 18’ x 52” round pool from thepoolfactory.com lol

Yeah, I'm sure glad we sold the old 16ft round and bought this one in 2019!!!!
