Hi, I am in process of ordering a 48" steel wall pool kit. I would like to have corner steps with an attached bench in the shallow end. Does anyone have this? Please show pictures. I am finding that most step/bench combos only work on 42" steel walls:(

If your talking fiberglass premade then theres little out there. For steel you can make or get them ordered. You can hybrid too. We sometimes just build them completely of concrete. I've only done 2 48" pools not very popular here and both were side entry Ls very easy to find

If I'm using 42" steel walls, corner steps with bench that runs along shallow end, can I have a deeper shallow end like 3'8" waters depth? Or am I limited because of wall depth? 18x36 rectangle vinyl lined.

I plan to have 12' of shallow end then slope to 8' diving end.

We were thinking to do 48" walls because we want to have a deeper shallow end like 3'8". But now I'm learning that you can still dig deeper in shallow end even with 42" walls and corner steps?

We went with 48" walls for exactly that reason-wanted a deeper shallow. I'm guessing you could just dig a little deeper with 42s, but then wouldn't you have to build a cove on the sides?

Yes that is a good question about the cove. Do you have any benches in your pool? I am considering going with 42s now because it seems impossible to find benches for 48s.

42s need a cove in shallow end amd I'm not a fan honestly. If your set on deeper shallow end go for 48s. Is this a DIY? If so be aware ita very tricky to do liner over stairs and benches etc. Your gonna want to have a build sheet from wherever you buy the panels from so you can get a good fit on liner. If you mix amd match pieces you may have issues installing liner with a self measurement order

Thank you @jimmythegreek - I appreciate your input. Yes, we do want a deeper shallow - but we also really wanted a bench in the shallow. Unfortunately, I cannot find any 48 wall steel benches or steps with bench combos. I agree about the cove as I don't think I will be a fan either. We are ordering a pool kit but having a professional install the kit for us. The pool kit dealer will provide us with a build sheet, but if I decide to add say a concrete bench then there will be some self measuring to include the bench. Do you think this would be an issue with liner? We plan to order the liner through our installer directly from Merlin or GLI.

Did you have him price panels out? I ask for 2 reasons. First is PB can buy cheaper than poolW price to you. 2nd is nobody I've ever worked with would ever install someone else's poolkit unless they were not busy at all amd maybe not even then. With demand at an all time high be careful who you deal with. Saving a few bucks costs more than the savings on a botched pool job. But ask and see what's avail I know my local supply has a catalog of just 48" stuff
