New Pool, CYA Trouble?

New member here. We just had a pool built this spring; it was finished mid-May. I wish I had found this group even earlier! Anyway, we were out of town for a week, and I failed to prepare in terms of chlorine. Upon returning, we had some algae spots along some walls and steps. I panicked!
Tested CYA after looking into the SLAM protocol. We were already well over 100. I know now that we were relying too heavily on pucks and not liquid chlorine, but is it possible for our number to have gotten THAT high THAT quickly? We figure we have used anywhere between 20 and 30 8-ounce pucks total. According to my pool math calculations, that shouldn’t have raised the CYA to more than 60.
My Taylor CYA reagent is expired, so I guess I’m wondering if that could be the problem, but I’ve heard they are pretty stable, so not convinced. I ordered new bottles, so will try again when they come.
We did go ahead and drain nearly half of the pool, removed all pucks, refilled, and SLAMed it. It passed the OCLT this morning, and my ph is a tad high today, but not bad. CYA is still reading near 70. Just seems strange to me! Any thoughts?

FC - 24 (still coming down from SLAM)
CC - Less than .5
TA - 80
PH - 7.8
CH - Not sure. Out of reagent (ordered), but from when I’ve tested our hot tub in the past, our CH is low here.
Thanks in advance for any help!
