Dirt Under Pool - How Sandy is too Sandy?

Almost done leveling (thank God!)

I had to go down a few inches on one side and about 10” on the other. On theside I went down further, the soil is different than the shallow side. It’s a more sandy fill dirt rather than a topsoil type of dirt.
I am sinking 4 inch concrete blocks under the uprights. Using about an inch of stone dust under each block. Should I be concerned with the fact that the soil is different on the two sides of the pool?

I am trying to avoid trenching out two feet around the perimeter and placing stone dust around the whole perimeter.

The “sandier” fill still feels hard packed when it is dry, but is definitely looser when it is wet. Anyone foresee any problems if I just use stone dust under the blocks?

The concern with the "loose when wet", is the ease of which a pool can get washed out (or that side will slowly sink as the ground softens and cause failure) - the more solid & stable a base you can provide, the longer your pool will last.

Does having 2” of stone dust under the bottom rail (as well as under the concrete blocks for the uprights) seem like a good preventative measure?
I am not a construction expert, but anything that will compact and stay compacted (especially under the weight/pressure of the full pool) would be more desirable. We had to build a short retaining box for our pool base.
Do you have hardware rental stores in your area? I would see about renting a soil compactor, to see if you can pack that area, otherwise it may even slowly "shallow" the stone dust as well (between rains).
